Storage Units: No longer the bastard step-child

I think storage units (shelving too) often get left behind in the design process. The flashier pieces like the attention-whore sofa or big-name designer chair can easily steal the spotlight. But it doesn't have to be this way! On the flipside, just because the storage unit or shelving is b-o-r-i-n-g doesn't mean it won't completely dominate the space simply through sheer size and volume. So why not make it part of the whole moment you're creating rather than just an afterthought? 

Here-- some super creative ways to approach the issue. I'm not saying you have to go as far as the primary-colored deal, although those guys sure do get points for just going for it. :)

So I'm back from Mexico and still readjusting to this city vibe thing. Meh, kinda not feeling it yet, but I had to post something for all y'all to whet your appetite. Ahem. I'll share more vacation pix soon as well as some way cool interiors inspiration I found while on the trip. Sí.
