Loft-y

Jim and I live in a loft, and it's delightful in many ways, but we're renters so we can't change anything structural or aesthetic aside from our furniture. As two creative people, this sometimes cramps our style. I often get to daydreaming about how I would change our space, and my ideas usually return to something like what is shown in these photos. (Maybe minus the bathtub in the middle of the living room. Though I do love that bathtub.) Our loft apartment has the standard orange/red exposed bricks, orange stained wood floors and orange wood beammed ceiling. Are you sensing a theme yet?

So yeah, in my fantasies I would strip away much of the color and paint the bricks white, re-stain the floors as well as the ceiling a warm gray weather-worn color and let our massive picture windows tell the color story. We're surrounded by trees on our second-floor corner unit and who better than Mother Nature can dictate the color and light of our place?
