Maria Rita

When I look at Maria Rita's photography, I'm struck by its quiet simplicity. It seems so immediate to me, so in the moment. (I guess all photography shares this idea, of capturing a fraction of a breathe of time.) But hers seems extra immediate to me if that makes sense. Looking through her images is a good reminder for me to stay present—right here, right now. When I remember to do this, incredible things start happening. When I get wrapped up in everything that isn't going the way I want it to (foot stamping sometimes ensues) is when the incredible things stop happening. Hmmm, the choice seems pretty clear when I put it that way...
