Photos by NOTSTATIC
I am forever fascinated by the photographic world at large. Observing, documenting, editing...and challenging myself to see more deeply, pushing to try new things. Lately, I've been minorly obsessing about how to crop and process a photo, maybe one I wasn't initially impressed with. You know, one of those meh deals. But then I'll go back to it later, sometimes days or weeks later, and spend some time noodling it. Eeking out more than I thought was there. Occasionally, I'll make an image that satisfies me despite its modest, humble beginnings. These are a few such images from the past week.
I'm interested to know if you guys have had any personal creative breakthroughs that have surprised you. What were they? How did they come about? Do share your story!

I love this post!! I am so fascinated by the world of photography and have been pushing myself lately to figure out what it really is that makes a beautiful + interesting photo. Getting that composition right, cropping, processing. There are so many options to completely change the way a photo appears, it's almost maddening to a novice like me!
ps...your Instagram pictures have been so gorgeous lately, and I've definitely taken notice! ;)
Oh, Amy you are the sweetest! Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to notice. There is so much to explore and develop, and as a novice too, I sometimes get a little overwhelmed. But then I remember that there's no right or wrong way to create...it's all free, all wonderful and ours for the taking!
